Here are some state, national and neighborhood organizations that you can contribute money or other donations for the Haiti earthquake relief effort:
The Salvation Army asks people who want to help those affected .
Gov. Charlie Crist activated "Neighbors to the Rescue," a fund
managed by the nonprofit Volunteer Florida Foundation with grants made to long-term recovery organizations. Floridians who want to contribute can visit FLADisasterRecoveryFund.org or call 1-800-825-3786. Specify that donation is for the Neighbors to the Rescue Haiti Fund.
Pastor Linda Tice with Reeves United Methodist Church is also collecting donations on behalf of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR.)
